Name the record type, approximate date, location, incident number if known, and desired format. Those facts help identify the file, though the JavaScript request form did not expose a confirmed list of mandatory fields.

Grant County Records: What They Contain

This distinction matters because one arrest may leave related files with three or more Grant County custodians.

Restricted, Sealed and Expunged Records

Wisconsin juvenile CIB information is not publicly released without legal authority. Sealed and confidential court material is absent from WCCA, and state rules protect specified personal identifiers. Adult expungement under Wis. Stat. § 973.015 is narrow. In general, the person must have been under age 25 when the offense occurred, the offense must carry no more than six years of maximum imprisonment, and the court must decide at sentencing that expungement would benefit the person without harming society. Successful completion is also required. The official CR-266 certificate supports the adult filing process.

Court expungement is not the same as CIB fingerprint removal under Wis. Stat. § 165.84. Changing the court file does not automatically delete a repository fingerprint cycle. Likewise, correcting CIB does not rewrite the police report or clerk file. Grant County Supervision and Treatment
